Good to Nature

Good to Nature is a non-profit organization with complete transparency and openness in decision-making, procedures, and financial management. It adopts an all-volunteer model, with professionals handling specialized tasks. The reward for its volunteers is the visible and measurable progress in ecosystem restoration and the increase of public awareness on ecosystem restoration and sustainable protection.Recognized by the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, Good to Nature joined its Partnership Network as an Actor, collaborating with the Decade and its partners to support the acceleration of ecosystem restoration initiatives. Good to Nature's vision is to enable every action of the Chinese public to naturally benefit nature. It is committed to exploring a Chinese model for public participation in ecosystem restoration and sustainable protection, and to build an effective path for harmonious coexistence between the Chinese public and nature. To achieve this mission, its approach is to find solutions of scientific ecosystem restoration with scientists, and then build the path of public participation with industry leaders.Take its rainforest restoration pilot initiative for instance, it is now working with ecologists from the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, the Chinese Academy of Sciences to a) restore a rubber plantation to rainforests; b) restore a tea plantation to an agroforestry mixed structure. Meanwhile, it launched the Future Rainforest Guardian Plan and Ecosystem Restoration Benefit-for-all Platform to facilitate the local people to continuously participate in and benefit from restoration and protection. Furthermore, it is exploring the ways of public participation for urban residents with business professionals.
