The Friends of Music at St James' comprises a group of individuals who enjoy supporting some of Sydney's finest music. As volunteers, the Committee assist the music program at St James' in a practical sense with front of house support, and in creating worthwhile experiences through social events and functions. Our Head of Music, Warren Trevelyan-Jones, decides on the concert series and showcasing of performing artists at St James'. There are many opportunities available through the year for artists, both amateur and professional, to perform at St James'. We often use special guests/artists, often with international acclaim, to sing with the Choir.The Choir of St James' enjoys an international reputation and suits church (liturgical) and concert performances. Some of our singers have sung with international groups such as The Tallis Scholars and Monteverdi Choir, to name two. Warren was himself, a core member or Ensemble Plus Ultra, and a lay clerk at Westminster Abbey for 13 years. The Choir's international network is vast.The Friends of Music have a supportive role, and we are keen to assist in collaboration and broadening the brand and network of the choir and music programme of/at St James'. We rely on membership registrations to enhance and contribute to the music experience at St James'. We always encourage membership to the Friends of Music at St James', and in corporate and patron support.
