ESSSR is an inter-university consortium setup by the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, composed by members which share an interest on sustainability science and on matters related to sustainable development. It is a key organization, filling in a gap in respect of the coordination of sustainability science teaching and research at European universities seen today. The ESSSR undertakes activities focusing on four main areas: Area 1: digitally-oriented teaching programmes Area 2: research projects in the area of sustainability science Area 3: quality scientific publications to be published in high calibre journals Area 4: joint training of PhD students on sustainability science, as well as post-doctoral positions and fellowships
