We view ourselves as a portal through which likeminded individuals can interact and conduct wedding planning. Although marriage equality has yet to be obtained for all couples, we believe weddings should still go on. By making their special day not simply a wedding but an Equality Wedding, straight couples can show their support for gay marriage and join in on the struggle for marriage equality.Our vision:We believe straight couples needn't feel obligated to postpone their wedding until marriage equality has been achieved for all. Many couples have expressed such a sentiment as a show of solidarity with couples who are struggling for equality. We began to wonder: How can straight couples use their ability to marry as a way to support marriage equality? How can straight weddings be planned in a way that ensures one day gay weddings will be a reality for millions of couples who wish to marry?Our philosophy:We know marriage equality is on the horizon. We know future generations will look back at today's inequities with bewilderment and shame. We know our best chance at achieving equality comes from working together. Most of all, we know love is worth celebrating and we want everyone to have their wedding, even when we cannot yet have ours.
