For 6 generations of winegrowers, 80% of these families have remained the same, a tradition that has been passed down for over a century. The House is owned by its winegrowers, who own 100% of the vineyard plots, so the authenticity is total. The Cave de Ribeauvillé buys neither grapes nor wine, and the grapes are only harvested by hand.Elected "Winery of the Year" by the Revue des Vins de France, but also by Wine&Spirits USA, Weinwirtshaft Deutschland and AWC Vienna. The Cave de Ribeauvillé always stands out for the quality of its wines, its values and its men and women in the vineyards and in the cellar. The Cave de Ribeauvillé was the first cooperative structure created in France in 1895, in the heart of the Alsace wine route, the cradle of exceptional terroirs. In Ribeauvillé, we have inherited 245 hectares of vines in 7 Grands Crus, 8 lieux dits and 3 village appellations close to our Cave.Among these terroirs, a gift from "Mother Nature", our House has a monopoly on the fabulous Clos du Zahnacker, a 124-acre historical jewel in the heart of the Grand Cru Osterberg. The success of the Cave de Ribeauvillé is based on our own demanding and restrictive quality charter, guaranteeing sustainable agriculture with a drastic limitation of yields. The very strict selection of parcels supervised by our oenologist, Mrs Evelyne Bleger-Cognacq, allows us to produce 74 different Cuvées each year. Thus, we can let the terroirs express themselves through our wines. These values influence our viticulture, since 2004, the progressive conversion to Organic Agriculture is continuously evolving and this is why the Cave de Ribeauvillé was easily the first cooperative structure in Alsace to be certified HVE 3.
