AFriendlyHouse is a website dedicated to promoting universal design. Universal design creates an environment without barriers so that people with physical challenges are enabled rather than obstructed by the features around them. Our ultimate goal is to make universal design the default in building and remodeling and to do so we will be featuring people on the forefront of universal design and the projects they are involved in. We will show real life examples of how functionality combined with safety and beauty have given independence to people like seniors concerned with aging in place, veterans facing injuries and children born with disabilities.
